Primrose School of Arlington - Building the Foundation for Lifelong Learning

At Primrose School of Arlington, we are dedicated to providing premier early education and care that sets children up for success in school and beyond. As part of the industry-leading Primrose Schools® system, our school is committed to nurturing Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts® in children 6 weeks to 5 years old through our proprietary Balanced Learning® approach.

At Primrose of Arlington, we believe that a solid foundation in early education leads to a lifelong love of learning. By focusing on the development of the whole child — intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially — we help ensure children are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the world around them.

Primrose School of Arlington is more than a daycare. Through purposeful play and nurturing guidance, we help lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Right down the road from Key Elementary School and minutes away from Court House Metro Station, we are conveniently located on Wilson Boulevard. Come by and see Balanced Learning® in action.

The Balanced Learning Approach at Primrose School of Arlington

The Primrose Schools Balanced Learning approach combines purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. Children engage in a mix of child-initiated and teacher-guided learning experiences to help them develop cognitively, physically, socially and emotionally — with plenty of fun along the way.

At Primrose School of Arlington, our teachers have another special tool — the Primrose Friends. These 12 classroom puppets join children throughout the day to nurture cognitive and character development through books, music, role-play and more. They help teachers introduce abstract concepts, inspire critical thinking and encourage persistence in problem solving, all while helping children develop vocabulary, practice regulating their emotions and gain confidence. And children love them!

Partnering with Parents — a School-to-Home Connection

We know that children learn best when the lessons they experience at school are reinforced at home. That’s why at Primrose School of Arlington, we strive to connect with your family and make you a part of your child’s learning experience through daily communication, at-home activities, access to classroom resources and more.

What happens in classrooms at Primrose School of Arlington is only part of our early education and care experience. Our teachers partner with parents to better understand the needs of each child so they can provide more personalized support and offer ways to continue the learning experiences at home.

One of the tools our teachers use to achieve this is the Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ®). This is a developmental screening tool commonly used by pediatricians to monitor a child’s progress across a variety of developmental milestones. While every child develops at their own pace, monitoring these general milestones gives teachers and families valuable opportunities to support and challenge children appropriately. Primrose School of Arlington uses this and other checkpoints to partner with parents in enhancing a student’s learning experience.

Primrose of Arlington also offers take home activities including Molly’s Math bag and Og’s Reading bag for a fun and easy way to get involved in your child’s learning.

The Lasting Impact of Early Education

The significance of early childhood education cannot be overstated. Research consistently shows that quality early education leads to better outcomes in later life, including higher academic achievement and improved social skills. By providing a strong foundation, Primrose School of Arlington prepares children to be successful in school and beyond.

Together, we can make the most of your child’s first five years. After all, learning will never be this easy for them again.
