David Shulick Volunteers to Aid Pastor Cavanaugh and Ardmore Bethel AME Church in Community Expansion Initiatives

Ardmore, PA – July 23, 2024 – David Shulick is generously volunteering his time and providing his extensive legal background to support Pastor Cavanaugh and the Ardmore Bethel AME Church. This collaboration aims to expand the Church’s reach within the local community through several key initiatives, including the provision of low to moderate-income housing, community gardens, and other programs to address critical needs among the underserved.

The Bethel AME Church Community Garden and Victory Gardens are central to this mission. These gardens promote community wellness, intergenerational learning, and food sovereignty by creating spaces where community members can share knowledge and grow nutritious, culturally relevant food. The initiative seeks to address material needs by distributing healthy foods for free while also offering spiritual support and opportunities for healing, learning, and reconnecting with the Earth, particularly for those systematically denied access to land.

For the 2024 garden season, the garden will be temporarily relocated to Haverfarm College while the Church undergoes construction. The garden will return to its usual location in 2025.
